Eye-ssential Mask Launched To Relieve Eye Condition Pain

Designed to ease the pain of eye conditions such as MGD, dry eye, styes and other issues, the Eye-ssential eye mask has been launched. Bausch+Lomb, one of the world's largest suppliers of products for eye health, are marketing the ice/heat mask as a safe, effect and fast way to sooth irritations and soreness in a sufferers eyes.

Bausch+Lomb, founded in New York, currently offer a wide range of eye wear products and treatment options including contact lenses. The world famous sunglasses brand Ray-Ban, made famous by its Aviator and Wayfarer designs, was amongst its most recognised brands before the sun protecting eye wear arm was sold to Luxottica in 1999.

The Eye-ssential mask has been designed primarily to ease the pain that meibomian gland dysfunction sufferers complain of, as well as commonly known issues such as dry eye and sinus problems. MGD is the most common form of lid margin disease and patients can have symptoms such as eyelid inflammation and dryness, brought about by the glands becoming blocked over time. Using a technology known as Thera Pearl, the pack is the equivalent of a 20 minute 'Thermos for eyes', offering the wearer the option of freeze or heat treatment to the eye area, by microwaving or cooling the mask before use. Both variants of temperature are designed to help dry eye sufferers, while an iced mask should help with things such as headaches and swelling.

The Eye-ssential mask is anticipated to be marketed at under $15 per unit.
