An announcement from the exhibition organiser Media 10, was made at Frame. Media 10 said 100% Optical would be an international show for the whole ophthalmic sector and it anticipates 8,000 visitors. Chief executive officer Lee Newton said London needed an optical event and the industry has been crying out for an annual event on this scale for some time now.
The exhibition will be broken up into sections representing eyewear, lenses, equipment and machinery and business services. All areas can be accessed via a central hub.
The founder of TD Tom Davies, Tom Davies driving force behind the idea for Frame which had worked with The Eye Show in its final days, to step in and help organise Frame. he said "if nothing happens there won't be a show in London for 10 years"'. He said Media 10 deserved credit for saving the idea of a London show and ensuring exhibitors didn't lose out. 'They sorted this, backed it and paid for it,' he said. 100% Optical would be a show that 'not only London but the UK can be proud of'.
