Mee Healthcare Looking To Create One Stop High Street Health Shop

In a move that follows a similar path to that of Lloyds Pharmacy who recently made plans to incorporate opticians within their pharmacies as they strive towards an 'all under one roof' healthcare store, Mee Healthcare, a new business aimed at offering a similar service has laid out its plans and ideas to create one stop shops for a wide range of health services, including optics and hearing.

The American based business hopes to offer a convenient and easy to use facility to the public in environments that will see heavy foot traffic, ideally shopping centres. In making the muticare 'shops' accessible to the general public, it is expected that many sufferers of illnesses who simply shrug it off and get on with it without wanting to 'waste a professionals time' will now be able to simply drop in and get checked out as they are passing. Mee Healthcare is expecting their stores to include:

  • Opticians
  • Hearing specialists
  • Dentists
  • General practitioner services
  • Nursing

All of the specialist professionals that will be working in store will, it has been confirmed, be working with state of the art equipment so that the experience for the customer and consumer is what they would expect from any other healthcare establishment or representative, if not better. In theory, if a patient was to drop in with an issue which the medical professional needed to refer to a specialist, he or she would need to do little more than phone an in house extension and connect the patient through while transferring them to a different department. In essence, if someone was to see a nurse in store complaining of an eye irritation of some kind, once diagnosed, the patient would simply be referred next door to the in house optician.

The new primary care vision by Mee Healthcare is certainly causing a wave of excitement amongst the medical community with many believing it to be a once in a career opportunity to be a part of the foundations of this business model. With such close links between different types of professionals soon to be the norm, it is hoped that cross-refering and integration of services will prove to be a real bonus for the public.
