Milan Mido Optical Show Sees Numbers Increase

Figures recently released for the Milan based optical event, Mido (held at the Fieramilano centre), has shown an impressive rise in visitor and exhibitor numbers. The success of the show is being put down to a number of factors including the appearance of big names in the optical world as well as the offer of free transportation to opticians from around Italy.

With Optrafair fast approaching, the optical exhibition calendar has been somewhat full over the past months. During the opening week of March, all eyes were on the Mido exhibition in Milan, Italy and the worlds community of opticians were not disappointed. Visitor numbers were up by around 2000 people across the 3 day show. As well as a higher foot traffic, the volume of exhibitors had also risen, along with a number of well known names in the industry returning.

As well as the encouraging support from clients and companies in its own nation, Italy also welcomed a large contingent from across Europe, with almost half of the visitors trekking from all across the continent and the UK. Not that, Mido were looking to focus solely on interest from outside of Italy however. In order to increase support from home grown opticians and businesses, the exhibition offered a free transportation service to a range of areas in Italy, so that potential buyers and visitors could make their way there quickly, and also more affordably.
