New CenterVue Fundus Camera To Arrive In September

At the ExCel London in September, CenterVue, the optical device manufacturer, will be launching the Eidon fundus camera at the event held for the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. The new device claims to be the 'first true colour confocal fundus camera.'

CenterVue researches and creates diagnostic systems for the detection of sight-threatening issues. As a company, they focus the innovation of their devices on three things, automation, affordability and online connectivity. Through the creation of their optical products they hope to decrease the number of sufferers with preventable slight loss.

The new fundus camera to be launched by CenterVue, will be the Eidon, a fully automated unit with included tablet for use in diagnosis and screening in practice. The Eidon will offer increased abilities to detect the early symptoms of AMD due to a 110 degree field retinal image capability, utilising infrared light.

In being billed as the first of its kind in the colour confocal market, the device is capable of ultra high resolution and contrast images of the fundus through cataracts and media opacities, avoiding optic disc bleaching.

The ESCRS will take place at the ExCel London on 13th-17th September 2014.
