Following the first 100% Optical show at the ExCel London in February of this year, newly released figures claim the event as the number one attended ophthalmology and optometry show in the UK for 2014. The official numbers show a total of 5,010 individuals attending the event at the start of 2014.
Billed as 'London's only annual optical event', 100% Optical is held at the ExCel Exhibition Centre, with the next show fast approaching for 7-9th February 2015. The forthcoming event is expected to attract over 200 leading exhibitors from the optics market and will account for over 100 CET points.
The 2014 event featured over 180 UK and worldwide based companies, many for the first time on our shores. Many attribute the favourable statistics to its staging in the centre of London, a prime attraction in itself, and something that lends itself very well to overseas travel and accessibility. The show also showcased 90 hours worth of educational seminars, provided by the AOP, and resulting in a total of 101 CET points being available during the programme.
As well as a resounding success in the numbers arena, 100% Optical was also nominated for the Best New Event and the Event Awards, capping a quite extraordinary launch year for the team behind the show, Media 10. Due to its popularity, this year will see an increase in scale of around 30%, with more eyewear exhibitors to attend as well as enlarged halls to accommodate other areas of the market.
