New Kit to Assist Southport Eye Patients

Former students of the Southport Hospital eye department have returned to the district after successfully running their own opticians in Liverpool and have now obtained a groovy piece of kit which will offer the residents digital eye examination via the Nidek OPD III Wavefront Refractive Analyser. The benefits of digital exams are that they remove the stress associated with them for the patients. Gone are the requirements for lengthy questionnaires on health and past eye problems along with current social factors. Overall as it is digital the patient gets a far more accurate end result from the exam as it guarantees accuracy and thus clearer vision.

The other new examination being introduced id a Glaucoma test. This new test is a combination of corneal thickness with an air puff measurement test which is quieter and softer and therefor less uncomfortable for the patient.
