This summer sees the launch of an official medical grade eye test that can be taken online via your computers browser courtesy of Opternative, a new company in the field that are wanting to introduce to the eye market tests and prescriptions direct to the client.
The idea behind the initiative was to make a true eye test available for anyone that wanted a quick check up before venturing down the route of referrals to one of the many high street providers. Further to that, prescriptions will be available that are totally mobile and can be taken to any provider of the clients choice. The Company was co founded by Ophthalmologist Dr S Lee who wanted the services he was providing made more accessible. The launch of the online service certainly proves to do just that with many people who may be immobile or in poor health or too busy to fit in a scheduled test not having to miss out on a vital health screening service.
The service is to be launched in the United States with prospective consumers being given the opportunity now to register for the service. Currently they are waiting for full FDA approval, so further details regarding the testing are not going to be released until it is granted.
