Posties Participate In Vision Programme

As part of an exercise to highlight the importance of regular eye examinations, regardless of your lifestyle needs and job requirements, Specsavers invited almost 500 postmen to get their eyes checked over through their corporate eyecare service. The screening of Royal Mails staff was decided upon due to the fairly varied jobs that the company offers, with numerous skills required in differing departments.

Along with many other eyecare specialists in recent months and years, Specsavers were eager to continue to impress the fact that regular eye examinations are critical for everyone to ensure not only their sight is kept in tip top shape, but also that other detectable conditions that might affect your health are found quickly and early enough to treat. Many companies and corporations offer eye care to personnel where their eye sight is of critical importance to their job, say a graphic designer, as they work closely with tiny screen details of the optimum importance. Some other workers however, go under the radar, especially those who are not employed as desk based staff. It is these people that the programme was designed for to highlight the range of problems a lack of regular eye exams can cause. Certain conditions such as cancer and diabetes for example can be found early via eye screening.

Featuring very prominently in the news recently, being tested regularly for your visual abilities in regards to driving is another area the programme is eager to focus on as so many of us use the roads in one form or another.
