Just before the festive holiday we wrote about the initiative to care for the vision of the Homeless in and around our capital.
It's encouraging and satisfying to report, that this year, the charity implementing the challenge Vision Care for Homeless People opened their ten clinics to the highest number of patients ever. Two Hundred and fifty patients managed to find their way for eye examinations and general eye health advice and out of that number many of the practitioners made referrals for additional tests and / or prescriptions for treatment.
The ten clinics set up over the Christmas period were manned by a team of forty five Vision Care for Homeless volunteers.
It is hopeful that the scheme will continue to run, having proven that there is a definitive need for assistance and keeping with the schema to provide eye health education and treatment for all nationally.
