Uveitis Awareness

An annual National Education day for Uveitis was held in Inverness in March supported by British manufacturer and distributor Haag-Streit UK.

Many opticians, opthalmologists, nurses and optometrists attended from across the broads of Scotland to meet and assist each other in training with LED slit lamps provided by HS-UK.
The lamps were used in workshops to teach techniques for eye examination and assessing anterior segment patients with anterior uveitis.
The delegates were using mechanics that encompass up to date imaging and high resolution illumination throughout the exam.

Teaching aids are a growing method of educational awareness meetings, in addition to the normal guest speakers and reporting, and this one proved no less useful, being organised by the Scottish Uveitis National Managed Clinical network.
