Vision Action

Practitioners are being invited by charity Vision Action to get involved with a social enterprise  aiming to deliver a sustainable supply of adjustable prescription and other eyewear to the people of Africa.

Chairman and founder, Ken Macdonald, has said that stimulating a sustainable supply of affordable spectacles will help people needing glasses to live full and normal lives while creating jobs,  helping to provide employment and thereby income to those communities.

Optometrists and dispensing opticians  are sought that would be interested in getting involved either by visiting Cameroon ( the target country)  or fundraising  right here at home.

Vision Action operates by visiting countries with no eye care services and provide simple training to local people to help them to screen for vision problems. These people then become Vision Action Spec Vendors and receive a uniform, testing equipment and a range of glasses at absolutely no cost.

The Vendors sell the reading glasses, sunglasses, and adjustable spectacles at  a very low cost to those  most in need in the area. Those vendors can then purchase more Vision Action products from  their supply centres. This creates access to vision correction, an income for the vendor and also creates a supply chain within that country.
