Watching 3D Movie Contributes To Young Boy Becoming Cross Eyed

young boy suffers becomes cross eyed viewing 3d film

We have all heard the story about your eyes going square from watching too much television. Your parents probably used to say it 4 or 5 times per week, and was little more than an idle threat from the age of 5 years old onwards. However, a young boy from Norway has suffered from an incredibly rare reaction to watching a 3D film at his local cinema, finding that he had become cross eyed upon his return.

In what was a strange turn of events, the young Norwegian boy began to complain of a number of eye related conditions immediately after leaving the cinema including headaches, double vision and sickness. It was at this point that the young boys father noticed that his son appeared to be cross eyed. Following a concerning trip to his opticians and doctors, it was diagnosed that although the film and its 3D content hadn't actually caused this to happen, it had in fact triggered a dormant visual issue. It has been well documented that 3D images have been known to cause nauseous feelings for some audience members, in many cases due to the increased concentration levels in the viewers eyes that occur when watching the new technology. In this case it appears this extra exertion may what caused these symptoms to manifest.

It is now hoped that in wearing an eye patch, the young boys' eye will return to normal, with rest. However, at the time of writing, the condition does not appear to have improved with eye surgery being mentioned as the next form of treatment.
