Cartoon Favourites Glasses Appeal To Indian Children

convincing children in india to wear glasses through notable cartoon characters

Convincing children to do something that they don't want to do is difficult. Getting kids to do something in front of their friends that isn't cool, is down right impossible. Thinking that you can make your child wear 'boring glasses' by telling them that it will improve their eyesight and give them long term benefits in life while they argue their friends will make fun of them? Well, you get the picture. Just as it has been one of life's little problems to convince your children that that 'yukky, horrible medicine' will actually make them feel better, finding eye wear or glasses for your young ones when their eye sight requires it, is an uphill task. However, the Indian fashion market is noticing a trend of eye wear ranges appearing, designed for children, and more importantly attracting large sales.

Whereas in the past, the thought of wearing glasses brings about thoughts of thin rimmed, un-trendy spectacles with bottle bottom lenses has been horrific and traumatic, new, cartoon inspired frames seem to be bucking the trend. Although these types of eye wear have been available in the western marketplace for many years, India is reporting a boom in sales of these styles as they begin to infiltrate Indian high streets. With a fairly broad range of ages to cater for, children's TV network giants such as Nickelodeon and Disney have brought out a number of products based on highly viewed cartoons to appeal to the younger market in the pre-school to young teenager age range.

The main draw of these styles appears to be the brightly coloured frames on offer, with boring, dull, standard glasses filling warehouses as opposed to shop windows. As one would expect, the lenses used are all about eye care primarily as opposed to simply selling on brand, with intelligently designed frames winning over opticians as well as the consumers they are intended for. As they are to be used by children, the products are being made using strong metallic substances to stand up to the rigors of childhood, while not being sharp or dangerous so as to be perfectly suitable for the age range they are intended.
